Undiscovered 2010 Week 2…

by pauline on May.11, 2010, under blog

Hello Everyone!

It would appear that I have advanced to week 2 of Undiscovered Edmonton 2010, Season 2.
I decided to open the competition with a song by Beyonce – Listen from the Dreamgirls soundtrack.
According to Nathan Brown, last season’s second prize winner, it was a bit of a surprise.
I must send a love shout out to the crew from A Bookworm’s Tale that so graciously drove in from as far as Hay Lakes to cheer me on last week! I love you guys so much! Cara, Natasha, Matthew, Neil, Loralee, Shane, Mark, everyone, thank you sooo much!!! <3 <3 <3

Also, I should be getting a copy of the movie, Money some time as it should have wrapped post production by now. :D

I am also working on a proposal for a debut album. If anyone knows of investors, angel investors, etc…. to help with my first album, please contact me! :D

I will also be opening the Edmonton Energy Mens Basketball Season opener with the American & Canadian Anthems. Come on out and cheer on our local mens team and enjoy some great b-ball!!

I am excited and looking forward to Week 2 of Undiscovered. For those who would like to come out and cheer me on, as well as vote for me, the next show will be May 20th, 7 PM at The Pawn Shop on Whyte Ave.

Thank you all so much for coming along with me on this ride.

God Bless,

P

What will tomorrow bring?

by pauline on May.03, 2010, under blog

Ahhh… after a hectic week with all 6 shows of A Bookworm’s Tale completed, I find myself asking… What will tomorrow bring?
For those of you who came out to see the production, this was one of the songs from the musical.
It was an amazing experience to work with the full cast and crew of A Bookworm’s Tale.
It felt so odd to start today knowing that there would be no more rehearsals, no upcoming show to look forward to, or to work towards, it was simply Monday.
I will miss everyone that I have been so fortunate and blessed to meet. It was really truly a fantastic time working with all of you for these past few months!
As for my character, Miss Holly, I bid this quirky English teacher a fond adieu. It took quite some time for me to learn about her, then to be able to flesh out her character, but in the final week before the show, she simply came alive and it was so much fun playing her!! So, Miss Holly, I just want to say, thank you, and I love you!!! LOL.

As for what tomorrow will bring? It looks like it’s time for me to settle in and get ready for the second season of Undiscovered Edmonton this week. The first week of competition will be held this Thursday down at the Pawn Shop on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. I must admit I am feeling a little uncertain right now as I have selected a song from Dreamgirls, and we have been limited to only 2 1/2 to 3 minutes for our songs – can we say stress!?!

I guess that is show business.

So for now, I will pace myself as I am also busy working my dayjob this week, along with preparing for the first week of competition, and the season opener for the Edmonton Energy on May 14, 2009.

Thank you all so much for following my blog.

God Bless & Much Love,
P

It’s Showtime!!

by pauline on Apr.26, 2010, under blog

Hey everyone!

Well, it’s the final hours before the techical rehearsal and the dress rehearsal, then the production of A Bookworm’s Tale opens and runs for 6 shows this week. Tickets will be available from Tix on the Square and at the door – as long as the show has not sold out for that time!

So much has been going on, and life seems to zoom by with barely any time to catch my breath!

As if this weren’t enough, as I made it through the Auditions of Undiscovered Edmonton Season 2, the first competition night for Round 1 will be on May 6th at The Pawn Shop on Whyte, so if you can make it, come on out and watch some amazing talent in Edmonton go for it! This year, the talent is bursting through the seams, so do come on out and support your favorites – hopefully, you’ll vote for me too! :D

Also, I am officially singing the Anthems for the Edmonton Energy IBL Men’s Basketball Team -dates have been confirmed and anyone who loves watching a great game of hoops, come on down to the U of A Main Gym, the temporary home of the Edmonton Energy until the Go Centre is completed and catch a game.

The movie that I finished shooting will be completed post production at the end of the first week of May and there will be another trailer coming soon!! So check back soon, and I will post the link once it’s available.

At present I am in talks and negotiations about cutting my first album and all that a project of this magnitude would involve.

That’s pretty much what’s up with me. I really am so excited about this week and the musical, and everything else that is happenning right now. To all of you who have been with me on this journey, thank you so much for your love, support & encouragement.

Much Love & God Bless,
<3 P

Show me the MONEY!!!

by pauline on Apr.13, 2010, under blog

This has been one crazy, hectic, insane week, and it’s only Tuesday!!

So far, I’ve completed a video audition that has been submitted for a movie being produced by Twilight Pictures & Productions – that only took 5 hours!! Thank God for David Bates with Tyrant Pictures. Thank you soooo much David for taping my first video audition!

Then, I had a rehearsal for A Bookworm’s Tale – tickets are almost sold out, so if anyone wants to see it, head to the Tix on the Square website and purchase them!

I was also back on set for the movie Money, and we finished up the additional scenes they had for me.

And somewhere in there, I had to fit in my “day” job too! Needless to say, I’m pretty exhausted, and really could use a vacation! :D

Now here is the really cool news, the trailer for the movie Money has now been released!
This is where that famous line from Jerry McGuire comes in handy…

Just click on the link below to see the trailer!

“Show me the MONEY!!!” .

I thank God for everything that has been happenning in my life. I want to thank you all for allowing me to share with you the moments in my life that keep me moving forward towards my dreams.

If you were to ask me what motivates me to write my blog, I will answer you this:
I believe that everyone has a right to their dreams. No matter what is going on in your life, no matter how hard things may have been, or may be, even at this moment, you still have the right to your dreams. No one can take them away from you, and if you can help it, don’t let anyone take them away from you.

Everything that you have all watched unfold for me, has literally unfolded naturally and with ease. I stopped trying to DO things, trying to BE things and simply learned how to quiet all the noise and listen. There was no struggle, no push, no fight. I simply have been prepared when opportunity came knocking and went for it. When I am most scared of doing something, I know it is something I need to do. Maybe you’ve heard it before, feel the fear and do it anyways. Or maybe you’ve watched YES! Man with Jim Carrey. I say YES! Sometimes life can be stranger than fiction.

Okay, that’s deep enough for today. I leave you all with this:

Go Forward in the direction of your Dreams!!!

God Bless,
<3 P

Let the good times roll…

by pauline on Apr.09, 2010, under blog

Hello everyone! I just love you guys!
Thanks so much for visiting and reading my blog. Without those of you who have supported me and been with me vicariously on my journey via this blog, it just wouldn’t be the same.
I’ve met so many wonderful people along the way, and it just seems that I continue to be blessed with more and more wonderful opportunities, people, and I thank God for all of it!

This week has been so full! I had a great rehearsal for A Bookworm’s Tale early this week. Cara Albo is an amazing choreographer, musician, playright, you name it! I have had the most amazing experience working with Cara and Gilbert Allan! For more info on them, you can go to their websites:
http://www.caraalbo.com and http://www.gilbert-allan.com.

Yesterday was a hectic day again. I was back on set to reprise my role as Kate in the movie Money. It was great to see Ken Nemetchek, Wes Miron & Katrina Beatty again. I got to pack some heat and dress up with a full shoulder holster and empty glock with empty ammo clips again. ;)

Yesterday evening was the first audition for Undiscovered Edmonton Season 2. Everyone that came out yesterday was advanced to the first round of competition beginning May 6th, 2010. The competition will be stiff this year. There was phenomenal talent in the first week alone blowing the doors off the stage! Auditions will be held every Wednesday this month at The Pawn Shop on Whyte Ave for those of you out there looking for something cool to do on a Wednesday night! Head down there and have a listen to some of Edmonton’s top talent vying for a spot in this season’s competition.
The judges for this year were absolutely great, hosts Charlie Mrech & Rebecca Jayne were fantastic, and the entire crew in the green room were way cool!

I will also be submitting my first video audition for an upcoming movie due Monday. I’m such a newbie at this, I really have no clue how these things go. So I am learning it all in the “fly by the seat of my pants” method.

I also sent in my dates that I will be singing the opening anthems for the Edmonton Energy Basketball games. To check out their schedule and directions to get to the U of A Main Gym, head to their website: www.edmontonnrg.com

A big shout out to everyone that was on set for the shoot of Money on Tuesday, The entire cast & crew of A Bookworm’s Tale, and everyone at the Pawn Shop last night for the first week of Auditions for Undiscovered Season 2, and to my #1 fan! Thanks so much for coming out to cheer me on!!

God Bless,
P

April is hopping!!

by pauline on Apr.04, 2010, under blog

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful weekend with your family & friends!
I am so excited about this month as so much is happenning.

I just finished a commercial for a dating service – yes, for all of you out there, here is the skinny – they actually pay people (actors & actresses) to do those online dating commercials. So, it is highly likely that you may see me on the tv between the Tyra Banks show, MAD TV or even Saturday Night Live.
For those out there who will be giggling at this, my response to you: I don’t take myself too seriously, it was a blast to shoot, I really enjoyed hanging with some of the talent (mostly bodacious babes from my talent agency) we got paid & fed, and it was an opportunity for more people to see people from our talent agency, as Serendipity Talent Management got the exclusive to this opportunity!
I love my agents! Sherry & Betty are faboooolous! So are the great people on their roster. A shoutout to Donna, Sherrie & Shane! So have a giggle, as it is pretty funny even if I do say so myself.

Just a note, anyone who actually knows me, no calling or texting for a date, I’m a little busy right now and I like it that way! But it’s sweet that you would even think to call or txt though. :D

As for the rest of this month, April 7th is the first day of Undiscovered Sason 2, so I will be at the Pawn Shop from 6:30 PM on, to get rolling on this year’s ride on the Undiscovered train! :D

I will also be back on set with the feature film Money for additional scenes starting the 7th and then on the 12th again. I am looking forward to reprising my role as Kate – even for a couple of days! It was such a great time shooting with Ken Nemetchek, Wes Miron & Katrina Beatty. I am looking forward to seeing some of the amazing cast again!!

I will be busy rehersing for A Bookworm’s Tale, for those of you who would like to attend, you can purchase tickets at Tix on The Square

So, Happy Easter Sunday everyone! Huge Love Shout to all of you!! Thank you so much for supporting me and reading my blog.

Oh yes, I must send my love to Russia!! My website administrator informs me that the country that I get the most hits from is Russia. Thank you everyone in Russia for rocking my web stats!!!
From the bottom of my heart, I <3 you, Russia!!! xoxo

OOO’s & God Bless!

Let the music play on…

by pauline on Jan.18, 2010, under blog

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk!!!!!! Yes, again, another cyber-girlie shriek. I seem to have so many occasions where they are just plain necessary!

I just got back from the first read through of A Bookworm’s Tale with most of the cast in attendance. So exciting!!! My first musical! How cool!

I have been cast as Miss Holly in this production and am quite excited about this opportunity to work with some amazing people and the upcoming talent in Edmonton.

I auditioned the musical piece, I Dreamed a Dream – yes, the same song that lead to all that Susan Boyle fame.

It’s been so long since I connected with my early opera and classical training.

Don’t worry people, I am still singing what I love – country of course, it just so happens that I can sing most musical genres and enjoy stretching my repertoire as a way to improve my overall technique.

The music plays on, the show must go on, and as I have been so deeply aware of, life must and does go on.

I thank God in my prayers again tonight and know that life consipires for me and with me for my greater good. I learn from my mistakes, and take the lesson and take another step forward.

If you can dream it, it can happen to YOU! So my wish for everyone out there, pick a dream (make it a good one! fill it with love and give yourself permission to have that dream for yourself)
Dreams can and do come true. Everyday I get to witness the truth of this. So go and get your dream(s)!

God Bless,
<3 & OOO’s,
P

The latest…

by pauline on Jan.15, 2010, under blog

Hello Everyone!

It’s been a hectic week or so. Last week was the first rehersal for the month end fundraiser. That went well. Today was the second rehersal – looks like I’ll be stepping out of the country box and singing a musical number plus one or two country numbers for the January 30th show at the Sands Hotel on Fort Road in Edmonton, AB – The Renata Room – Doors open at 7:00 PM Show starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are only $5.

Just yesterday I had an audition for another commercial at the Best Western Cedar Park Inn. That went well. I have to say that everyone at any of my auditions have been absolutely fantastic!

Then, today, I had an audition for A Bookworm’s Tale with Gilbert Allan & Cara Albo. What a blast – this duo has partnered up for a two act musical production that will make the community – heck, the city proud! I did my first monologue today, and dusted off my classical/operatic pipes and sang “I dreamed a dream” from Les Miserables. What a change of pace – and what a pleasant surprise – I can still hit those notes.

Regardless of the outcome of my auditions, I have to admit that it’s been a great opportunity to try new things and to just go for it.

It would seem that 2010 has a few surprises in store – I love surprises, don’t you?

For all of you out there who have been watching, supporting and cheering me on, I wish all of you the best 2010 possible. If experience has taught me anything, it is simply this: if you’re passionate about it, and it’s something that you want, and if it will bring more life to you and/or others, then GO FOR IT!

I’m going to make this my Nike year, you know their slogan, “Just Do it!”

Love Bomb!
OOO’s
P

P.S.

If you want to hear the latest in golden sounds from my buddy Nathan Brown:
Just released, Hot out of his Secret Studio is his latest audio – The Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore (Cover). Check him out on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9jUFxBTkTk
